Success

It was a well fought semester to achieve the triple Ps we aimed for.
With all blessings from above and support from family members, friends and lecturers, we gave it our all to go against stress, agony and pressure in the face of EXAMS.
Denying previous history and statistics regarding internus and results, we stood up firm on our belief and faith in pursuing our dreams with unshaken will and courage.
There were times where we felt fluctuations in our confidence and self-esteem, yet we struggled on with uneditable images of failing in our minds, which in turn became motivation in a way.
Mood swings from exam to exam, from subject to subject, from theory to practical, from practical to viva list, from viva list to official results.
Conquering every occasion with victory seems to be an unrealistic statement for a medical student and passing might sound just as common to non-medical students out there.
But in our hearts, only we who had felt it can really understand it.
On 1st March 2007, I received a call from Hua Min telling me the news which would lift my spirit up above heaven. As i rushed out of the Algate Hotel lobby to adjust a better reception for the handphone, I heard 'Robin, we all passed!'...the events taking place after that statement need no further elaboration..............

What does Nike say?

Sooner or later, you start taking yourself seriously.
You know when you need a break.
You know when you need a rest.
You know what to get worked up about and what to get rid of.
And you know when it's time to take care of yourself, for yourself.
To do something that makes you stronger, faster, more complete.
Because you know it's never too late to have a life.
And never too late to change one.

Just Do It !

The Stupidest Thing To Do...

wats urs answer to the title?

Well, my answer will be GIVING UP! ok you might tell me, my chances in accomplishing this task is like 0.001 %, i might as well give up and not waste my time rite?
Let me tell you something, even with that 0.001% there is still HOPE...and that HOPE can be converted into MIRACLES...i define a miracle as something done when u absolutely do not expect it to happen ..
Sometimes, miracles are not jz magical wonders send down from heaven, but it is done with our own hands, our own capabilities....moreover most of the time, our chances are definitely more than 0.001%...
So never tell me you are gonna give up anymore!! anyone of u....

Sir Winston Churchill took three years getting through eighth grade because he had trouble learning English. It seems ironic that years later Oxford University asked him to address its commencement exercises. He arrived with his usual props. A cigar, a cane and a top hat accompanied Churchill wherever he went. As Churchill approached the podium, the crowd rose in appreciative applause. With unmatched dignity, he settled the crowd and stood confident before his admirers. Removing the cigar and carefully placing the top hat on the podium, Churchill gazed at his waiting audience. Authority rang in Churchill's voice as he shouted, "Never give up!" Several seconds passed before he rose to his toes and repeated: "Never give up!" His words thundered in their ears. There was a deafening silence as Churchill reached for his hat and cigar, steadied himself with his cane and left the platform. His commencement address was finished.

Bend but don't break

One of my fondest memories as a child is going by the river and sitting idly on the bank. There I would enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the water rush downstream, and listen to the chirps of birds and the rustling of leaves in the trees. I would also watch the bamboo trees bend under pressure from the wind and watch them return gracefully to their upright or original position after the wind had died down.

When I think about the bamboo tree's ability to bounce back or return to it's original position, the word resilience comes to mind. When used in reference to a person this word means the ability to readily recover from shock, depression or any other situation that stretches the limits of a person's emotions.

Have you ever felt like you are about to snap? Have you ever felt like you are at your breaking point? Thankfully, you have survived the experience to live to talk about it.
During the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions that threatened your health. You felt emotionally drained, mentally exhausted and you most likely endured unpleasant physical symptoms.

Life is a mixture of good times and bad times, happy moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that take you close to your breaking point, bend but don't break. Try your best not to let the situation get the best of you.

A measure of hope will take you through the unpleasant ordeal. With hope for a better tomorrow or a better situation, things may not be as bad as they seem to be. The unpleasant ordeal may be easier to deal with if the end result is worth having.
If the going gets tough and you are at your breaking point, show resilience. Like the bamboo tree, bend, but don't break!
